Bermuda and Back to Sea

Sunday, April 1, 2108

Today is Easter Sunday and the second day of Passover.  Happy holiday to all.

Yesterday we were in Bermuda, a port sandwiched between 2 days at sea and 4 days at sea.  We decided that made for the perfect opportunity to take a long walk. We were docked at the Royal Naval Dockyard and walked from there to Somerset where we picked up the Bermuda Railroad Trail, which we have walked previously.  We had anticipated a cool, cloudy day but it turned out to be a sunny, mild day with a temperature near 70 degrees - perfect for a walk. The views on the walk to Somerset were lovely:

The walk along the trail was pleasant with lots of birds singing and pretty flowers.  We have always found the Bermudans to be friendly people and yesterday was no exception.  We think that we walked for about 10K before getting back to the main road and grabbing a bus back to the Dockyard.

After returning to the ship we had spa treatments scheduled - Linda had a facial and I had a hot stone massage.  What a great way to go after a long walk.

In the evening, the ship put on a Seder for the Jews on board and there were over 90 at the Seder which was held at the outside grill.  The setting was lovely, the Seder ceremony was nice and then Linda and I left before the meal was served. We appreciate the effort that Oceania puts into putting the Seder on but we have previously found the kosher chicken to be lacking, so we went to the Italian restaurant and had a great meal!

Today, being Easter Sunday, they had a special brunch with lots of good food and chocolate bunnies.

Then, this afternoon, we went to the Old World wine tasting with our favorite head sommelier, Sascha.  We have sailed with him often and always enjoyed it. His commentary was informative and the wines were great - what more could you ask?  The wines were served with tapas so I think it will be a late dinner tonight.

The seas remain amazingly calm:

and the captain says they will stay that way for a couple of days and then ?????
